People from Southwestern WA came out to protest a drag queen location in Olympia after it was broken via the Olympia Times that the drag queen story hour would include individual and controversial reading to youth about story subjects that were sexual in undertone as drag and dancing, to those as young as 1 years old. Many more attended the outside in support while a little under a dozen came out in demonstration against it.

After taking place from the sight of a moved Drag Queen location, the decorated Athletics place was covered with activists from the Thurston/Clark Co area in Trans/Queer regalia; across the street the location was a demonstration from right leaning activists including personalities as "Olympia Chud" and those from Waking Up Washington as well as other scenes around the west coast.

Demonstrations occurred from the opposite street due to the stipulation that children 0-18 were being serviced with Drag Performances under the supervision of a man in woman-face; many including those guarding the event were recognized as being around events where Queer/Trans activists included the likes of assaultees of groups of counter demonstrators including middle aged women known as TERFs from the Tacoma area.

Including a period of three hours of back and forth verbiage, minimal interactions besides physical posturing and yelling occurred with only a single police cruiser attending to watching the event as no physical confrontation broke out ultimately on either side.

This was taken on September 29th, 2024 in Downtown Olympia WA blocks away from the police station.
