The Temperance card reminds us that balance is a choice. It is up to us to say ‘no’, to set appropriate boundaries and exercise self-care. By knowing ourselves and paying attention to where we are internally, we make congruent decisions in the outer world. In our modern world, this can be a challenge, especially if we are running pleaser energy, or we are constantly distracting ourselves and running at full tilt.

It is worth remembering: only when our cup is full can it run over into those around us. If we want to be of highest service, exercising right balance within is first.
