Investigator Tricks Elusive Monster Into Confessing | Case Of Rebekah Gould | True Crime Documentary

Police Hunted The Killer For 16 Years Before He Turned Himself In! | True Crime Documentary

22-year-old college student Rebecca Gould was brutally murdered in September 2004 in Melbourne, Kansas. Her body was found beaten, strangled, and dumped in a ravine a week after she went missing. Blood evidence was discovered in the trailer of her boyfriend, Casey, who was the prime suspect. However, Casey had an alibi and passed a polygraph test. The case went cold for years as police investigated other suspects, including an ex-boyfriend and local residents, but no arrests were made.
In 2020, a newly assigned cold case detective reopened the investigation and uncovered a shocking lead. Casey's cousin, William Miller, who had been visiting the area to help his mother move at the time of the murder, was discovered to have joined a social media group dedicated to discussing the case. Suspiciously, William seemed to have insider knowledge of details that had not been made public.
Police tracked William's return to the US from the Philippines, where he had moved after the murder. During interrogation, William failed a polygraph test and his story kept changing. Under pressure, he confessed to being the real killer. William admitted to being a serial killer who had been stalking and murdering young blonde women since he was 20 years old. He had knocked on the door of Casey's trailer and asked to use the phone, but it was a ruse to get inside and attack Rebecca. In a fit of rage, he bludgeoned her with a piano leg and strangled her to death.
William provided a map to the burial sites of 6 more victims, shocking investigators. For 16 years, he had evaded justice by moving overseas and starting a new family, but his guilt finally caught up with him. He showed no remorse for his brutal crimes. The judge sentenced him to life in prison with no chance of parole. The Rebecca Gould case was finally closed, but the families of the victims will forever be haunted by the senseless violence committed by this ruthless serial killer.
