Fishing at Eagle Nest Lake, NM - Spoonplugging

Steve, Rick, and I decided to participate in the annual Fish Fest and Pike Roundup at Eagle Nest Lake, New Mexico. This event aims to reduce the population of invasive Northern Pike in the lake, which have been negatively affecting the trout and Kokanee salmon populations. We arrived at the lake during a turnover, a natural process that can make fishing for larger pike more difficult.
Following Buck Perry's guidelines for successful fishing, we found the fish. Watch and see what we catch, you may learn a thing or two in the process.
