Kitten meowing to attract cats

When we first found my cat outside as a kitten by himself, I would play it to make sure he was still around and okay. Eventually he just learned his name and I didn't have to do this anymore.

I think it’d be like playing sounds of someone breaking into your home and being met with a person you trust wanting to cuddle. Kinda distressing and might make them trust you less.
