Europe is one of the most oppressive areas of the world for a free press. Europe is doing to its journalists what the U.S. did to Assange.
Europe is a horribly oppressive place for free speech right now. Europe sucks, 100% sucks. Nothing he did was a victory for free speech, because in the end he was forced to plead guilty for a crime he didn't commit.

Don't treat this as a victory. This was the biggest defeat for free speech you could imagine, because the US government intimidated a man into pleading guilty for something he didn't do.

Excerpts, Scott Ritter, Ask the Inspector Ep. 199
