The Eyes of Horus or Ra are often compared to the pineal gland. However, these ancient symbols of the Egyptian mystery tradition may actually symbolise the inter-thalamic adhesion. The Inter-thalamic adhesion is the bridge-like structure that separates the two hemispheres of the Thalamus. The thalamus is the control centre of the human body and its name is derived from the greek word meaning "the inner chamber".

This inner chamber of the human brain controls the nervous and hormonal systems of the body and the inter-thalamic adhesion that separates its lobes may have prompted the Egyptian adepts, masters in the anatomy of the human body, to represent this central structure as the pupil of the all-seeing eye of Horus.

This video highlights the differences between the length of the Inter-thalamic adhesion in men and women.

In general, women have a longer bridge and are more receptive and intuitive in nature. Therefore this difference in length of the inter-thalamic adhesion may beautifully point to the true meaning of the all-seeing eye - subtle psychic ability and intuitive thinking.

The ancient art of flame gazing is also mentioned. This art of energy movement is spoken of in many of the world's secret mystery traditions, and its beneficial effects on the conservation and circulation of the creative force within the human body is an important point to remember.

For the male practitioner, circulating the conserved creative energy (semen retention and circulation) is the best way to metaphorically lengthen the central bridge. Successful adherents to this ancient practice can become more intuitive, more insightful, and more connected to the natural environment. (as well as gaining enhanced health, well-being, and cognition).

The Eye of Horus is an ancient symbol of the human brain, its anatomy, and, ultimately, its true magical potential.
