Feds arrest thousands of violent fugitives in sweeping operation

The U.S. Marshals Service announced that Operation North Star, a months-long nationwide mission, led to the arrest of over 3,400 violent fugitives wanted for murder, rape, and robbery.

The operation, covering 10 metro areas in the Midwest, Southwest, and Southeast, resulted in 216 homicide suspects, 803 assault suspects, and 482 weapons offenders being taken into custody.

Notable arrests include fugitives wanted for statutory rape, drive-by shootings, and street racing-related killings.

The operation also seized 534 firearms, over $500,000 in cash, and significant quantities of illegal drugs, including fentanyl, the Washington Times has reported.
