This video will show you how to achieve the blurry background effect in your photos and videos. The blurry background effect is referred to as bokeh in photography speak. The key to getting a blurry background, or bokeh, is the aperture, which works like your eye by opening and closing to let in more or less light. The wider the opening, the more blurry the background. For most modern cameras the easiest way to achieve the blurry background effect, or bokeh, is to put the camera in aperture priority mode. This setting will give you control of the aperture, while leaving the other settings under the control of the computer. With the aperture under your control, you can open that aperture and get the blurriest possible background. If you are using a film camera that has no automatic modes, you just need to adjust the aperture and shutter speed to get the proper exposure with the aperture open as much as possible. Before you know it, you will be on your way to achieving the blurry background effect in your photos.
