90 in 90, Day 17 - a few more moments on anger...

Body text:
welcome back to 90 in 90, Day 17 - because it is such an important topic, let's spend a few more moments on anger...

As always, lets start by getting in the right place with the process of prayer... Higher Power, help me release the anger that burdens my heart and mind. Grant me the strength to let go, so I can live in peace and not in rage. Guide me toward healing, freeing me from the harm that constant anger brings.

Day 17: Anger and rage are powerful emotions, but when they become constant, they can lead to serious health consequences. It’s natural to feel angry at times—life can be unfair, and people can hurt us. But living in a state of constant anger traps me in a cycle that not only harms my mental well-being but also my physical health. Chronic anger triggers a stress response in the body, which over time, can lead to serious issues like high blood pressure, heart disease, weakened immune systems, and even digestive problems. When I let anger control me, I’m also inviting long-term harm to my body.

The key isn’t to suppress anger—it’s to feel it, process it, and then let it go. Bottling up anger only makes it worse, turning it into resentment and bitterness, which continues to harm my health. It’s important to express anger in healthy ways, whether by sharing it in a recovery meeting, talking to a trusted friend, or even writing it down. By getting it out in the open, I allow myself to release its grip. Sharing helps me process the feelings beneath the anger and lightens the emotional load.

But while it’s necessary to feel and share anger, living in that state is dangerous. Constant anger keeps the body in a heightened state of stress, flooding it with harmful chemicals like cortisol, which over time damages organs and lowers my resilience. The longer I stay angry, the more I hurt myself. Letting go of anger doesn’t mean ignoring it—it means acknowledging it, feeling it, and choosing to release it for the sake of my health and well-being. When I let go of anger, I choose to free myself from its physical and emotional toll, opening the door to peace and healing in my recovery.

Left unaddressed, living in catastrophe, fighting online with strangers, or even friends, we are at risk of the 5 C's. they are complaining, criticizing, concern, commiserating, and catastrophizing... these are distractions and comfortable disfunction that can destroy any chance I have for a peaceful life.

My hope for you is to remain aware of these and actively avoid them.
