Their goal is to claim rights to the "rock" lithium ore that is known to ribbon the entire area. He claims that they are already under contract with BMW for supply to their Germany manufacturing sites. You may be aware that lithium is not rare, in fact it is just behind aluminum in abundance on earth. The trick is to find an ore that requires the least effort to isolate the metal from and at the least cost. That's what is in this area, very much like that found in Bolivia.
