📼 VIDEO DESCRIPTION
An 81-year-old Montana rancher, Arthur “Jack” Schubarth, was sentenced to six months in prison for illegally cloning and breeding hybrid sheep for trophy hunting. Schubarth smuggled tissue from Marco Polo sheep into the United States to create a breed he named the “Montana Mountain King” (MMK). He then cloned the sheep from this tissue, bred the clone with other sheep, and sold the resulting hybrid offspring to hunters. His illegal activities included smuggling tissue, cloning, breeding, and selling semen and hybrid offspring. Schubarth was fined $20,000 and ordered to slaughter all remaining hybrid sheep. The cloned Marco Polo sheep was confiscated and will be transferred to a zoo.
