Description:
The last several decades have shown the immense impact that digitalization and technological development can have on every aspect of our lives. Whether it is how we socialize with others, how we engage with politics, or how we interact with money and the economy, technological innovation has drastically changed how we operate in the world. With the advent of blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, internet of things, and other major advancements, we find ourselves on the precipice of another digital transformation that will see the daily lives of people globally impacted in yet unforeseen ways.

In order to manage these technological developments and their impacts on society, it is more crucial than ever that regulations be put into place to prevent the abuses often seen in emerging areas which lack robust oversight. However, these regulations must be carefully thought-out and coordinated across multiple agencies, and even across multiple jurisdictions, in order to be effective. This panel will explore the role of regulation as we approach the next major digital transformation, how regulations can help address the UN SDGs, and other key aspects of regulation in the blockchain and digital assets space.
