Hulu has released the official trailer for the new Australian series "Last Days of the Space Age," a period drama set in 1979 Australia. The show offers a snapshot of life in Perth, following the intertwined stories of three different families as the country navigates significant political and social changes of the time while preparing for a new decade.

Created and written by David Chidlow, the show is set against the backdrop of a pivotal moment in history when the United States' first space station, Skylab, disintegrated and reentered Earth's atmosphere, crashing down on Western Australia and scattering fiery debris across the region and ocean. This event took place on July 12, 1979, just days before Australia was set to host the global beauty pageant, Miss Universe 1979.

The series boasts a stellar cast including Jesse Spencer ("House," "Chicago Fire"), Radha Mitchell ("Olympus Has Fallen," "Man on Fire"), Deborah Mailman ("Boy Swallows Universe," "The Sapphires"), Linh-Dan Pham ("Ninja Assassin," "Blue Bayou"), and Iain Glen ("Game of Thrones").

The eight-episode drama will feature episodes directed by Bharat Nalluri ("Boy Swallows Universe," "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day"), Rachel Ward ("Palm Beach"), and Kriv Stenders ("Red Dog").

"Last Days of the Space Age" premieres on Hulu on October 2nd.
