What is Said About the World of Dreams? | It’s a Cruel World | It’s all Perception

In the quiet moments that appear to us, we often find ourselves questioning the nature of the world we live in. "A Course in Miracles" offers profound insights into this, inviting us to explore the delicate boundaries between perception and truth, between illusion and reality.

The course tells us that we are the dreamers of this world of dreams—a world born from the deep recesses of the perceptions in our minds, shaped by our wishes, fears, and judgments. While knowing that eternity and timelessness are the reality of this universe, we are asked to look at this world not as our true home, but as a reflection of the mind that made it, a mind that knows, deep within, that this world is not where we belong.

A Course in Miracles teaches that an insane world arises from insane wishes, and from the act of judgment springs forth a world condemned. This world, the course says, represents our thoughts—a mirror reflecting back the content of our minds. Yet, even as it appears to cause us pain, the course reassures us that this world is causeless.

It does nothing, has no real effects, and cannot create anything of true substance. It is an illusion, a projection of our inner world, giving us only what we have given it. In this, the course challenges us to see that the pain we perceive is actually self-inflicted, an unconscious choice we have made, not knowing we have chosen hell in place of heaven.

The good news is that there is a way out of this dream world. When we let go of the judgments that have condemned this world, we begin to see it through the eyes of love, not fear. The course urges us to decide that God is right and that we have been mistaken about ourselves. It reminds us that we were created by God, from His very essence, and that He knows what we truly are: holy, complete, and at peace. We are not guilty sinners deserving of punishment and condemnation. That is the ego’s perception.

From forgiving thoughts, a gentle kind world can emerge. By embracing the truth of our divine nature, by recognizing that holiness resides within every one of us, we can begin to see glimpses of the real world—a world where suffering is optional, where pain is transformed into a life lesson, and where we remember our oneness with God.

This meditation invites you to journey inward, to reflect on the nature of the world you see and the thoughts that created it. Let this be your journey home, where peace is found not in the world, but within your own heart.
