David sympathized with the successor of the Nahash, Hanun, the new king of Ammon, for his father's death. However, Hanun shamed David's delegates. This led to an ugly war, which led to the defeat of Ammon and their ally Aram. In trying to apply the lessons from this story to our lives, we ask, Can Christians retaliate or go for a holy war against their persecutors?
