Captured AFU serviceman: 'medical examination with all the doctors took 15 minutes'

28.09.24 Captured serviceman of the AFU 17th Tank Brigade Ivan Zolotaryov told that he was arrested by the enlistment office employees, got his documents updated in 15 minutes, and was sent to Kursk region without training.

'I went to the place, where I work, in the dead end of the street. And they drove up in a minibus. So there was nowhere to run. They offered to update my data, as they said. In 15 minutes, I passed the medical examination, all the doctors,' Ivan said.

Then, he was sent to Kursk region at night as a part of a group of 8 men.

'At night, we moved out and came to Kursk region. They said we were to guard a basement of scouts until they return. They said it would take 2-3 days. So we went. There were 4 more people. So there were 8 of us. To be honest, I had no idea what we were supposed to guard. When the guys took us prisoner, they said they had eliminated the scouts. The scouts had an ammunition depot the basement,' said the AFU POW.

He saved his life by surrendering to servicemen of the Sever Group of Forces.

'So the first group was transported there on ATVs. We got into the bushes and there was a hole, I mean, two trenches. We gathered in one of the trenches. The second one got hit. After the ATVs were destroyed, I didn't know if they survived or ran away. The mortar shelling started. We were hit from the left and from the right. Almost all night long.
