Pick Up Your Cross Not a Pain Pill

We no longer embrace suffering with a joyful attitude. Jesus tells us to, "pick up your cross and follow me." But with today's prosperity and social gospels we pick up a pain pill instead. It has led to an out-of-control epidemic. Also, Jesus tells us He will be ashamed of us if we are ashamed of Him. He gives us some examples of what He means, including loving our parents or children more than Him.
