Reloading Basics Part 2: Troubleshooting Extreme Spread Issues with SS109 & Hornady BTHP Loads

In this episode of Reloading Basics, we take a closer look at the performance of two different bullet loads: the 62-grain SS109 projectiles loaded with 23.1 grains of SMP 842, and the 75-grain Hornady BTHP match bullets loaded with 23.7 grains of Ramshot TAC. Unfortunately, we encountered extreme spreads exceeding 100 fps on both loads, leading to inconsistent results on the range.

Join Steve and me as we sit down to discuss possible problems and solutions. We cover everything from checking the weight of the brass to recalibrating our electronic powder measure. We even try hand-measuring the powder to see if we can achieve more consistent results. Whether you're new to reloading or an experienced hand, you'll find valuable insights and tips for improving your own reloading process. Don't miss it!
