The Liberty Engine uses a magnetic motor design. This is a clip testing the motor. The full video includes assembly and disassembly, proving there are no hidden batteries.

The operator starts the engine by spinning the motor and it becomes self sustaining. They show meters of 228 Volts and even connect it to a bulb to see it powering a load.
