Sin of Neglect
(Yes, Neglect is Sin)
Text: Hebrews 2:3

Objective: identify sins that can hinder us to be perfect and entire

Intro:
Not all sins are equal (apart from salvation)
the sin of neglect is so common because it falls in the boundary of sin and not sin.

3 Important areas in which we should NOT Neglect
1. Do not Neglect - the Lord's Church - Matthew 18:17
- define church
- brother, small personal sins, the truth (every word may be established)
2. Do not Neglect - the Lord's Gift - 1Timothy 4:14
- be an example in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
- give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine
- focus here: given by prophecy - preaching the Word of God
- laying on of hands - he was sent out
- meditate, give yourself wholly - this is the definition of the opposite of neglect
- take heed - doctrine - continue
3. Do not Neglect - the Lord's Salvation
- 'not let it slip'
- first spoken of the Lord - important
- confirmed - God, with signs, wonders

All other neglect will root from neglecting these three

Message/conclusion:
Let us be aware of how neglect is a sin to avoid.
