ROAD TRIP WITH A BABY//BREASTFEEDING ON THE ROAD//

We had the pleasure of a nine-hour car trip, from Tamworth, New South Wales, back home to the Gold Coast, Queensland, as a family.

Spencer slept less in the car on the way home than he did when we drove to Tamworth and therefore wanted to nurse more, so we had four separate stops for him to breastfeed, one of which was in McDonald's in Grafton.

When I was going over the footage, I realised that the footage of Spencer nursing in McDonald's is the last visual I have of the nursing pillow I was using. I am pretty sure we left it behind in McDonald's, which is a real pity because that nursing pillow holds great sentimental value for me. It was the original nursing pillow I used for Spencer's big sister Amity, and I saved it all these years while we did round after round of IVF, hoping I would need to use it again.

Anyway, we have two new nursing pillows now. A modern doughnut-shaped pillow, as well as a smaller version of the Milk Bar pillow that I was originally using.

I sincerely hope that by sharing my breastfeeding journey I can help other women feel more confident about nursing in public, since feeding your baby is such a normal and vital thing to do and breastfeeding in public should be viewed as no different to bottle feeding your baby.
