IGN Writer Khee Hoon Chan ATTACKS Gamers After Black Myth: Wukong Success!
Khee Hoon Chan, a controversial figure in the gaming journalism world, has recently spiraled into a frenzy, lashing out at gamers who dared to support the highly anticipated Black Myth: Wukong. Chan's unhinged behavior, especially on social media, has revealed a deep-seated resentment towards both the game and its overwhelmingly positive reception. Despite Chan's attempts to rally a boycott and discredit Black Myth: Wukong, the game has triumphed, breaking records and solidifying its place as a gaming phenomenon.
Khee Hoon Chan, alongside Rebekah Valentine, notoriously co-authored an article aimed at smearing Black Myth: Wukong and its developer, Game Science. This hit piece tried to paint the game and its creators in a negative light before the game's release, but it failed spectacularly. Black Myth: Wukong defied all odds, surpassing 10 million copies sold and setting records as one of the top-selling games at launch. This success stands in stark contrast to Chan's smear campaign, showcasing the power of a well-crafted game to rise above baseless accusations.
Chan's response to the game's success has been nothing short of explosive. Her public outbursts, filled with anger and vitriol, show a profound inability to come to terms with the game's widespread acclaim. In fact, one of the IGN writers who smeared Game Science as sexist called for gamers to boycott Black Myth: Wukong ahead of its release, further fueling the controversy.
As reported by YouTuber Smash JT, Khee Hoon Chan, who co-wrote the infamous IGN article, accused Game Science of sexism based on outdated recruitment posters and controversial social media posts. Chan even took to social media, urging gamers to pirate Black Myth: Wukong rather than purchase it. This behavior has raised serious questions about Chan's true motives and the credibility of the accusations.
Despite Chan's calls for a boycott, Black Myth: Wukong has seen unprecedented success. The game broke the record for the most concurrent Steam players for a single-player game and currently stands as the second most played game on Steam, just behind PUBG: Battlegrounds. Game Science proudly announced that the game sold 10 million copies across all platforms on August 23rd.
This saga not only highlights the controversy surrounding Black Myth: Wukong but also exposes the lengths to which some will go to try and tear down successful games. The gaming community should be aware of these developments as Black Myth: Wukong continues to make headlines, proving that no smear campaign can hold back a truly great game.
