The moment Netanyahu pushed the button: How Israeli PM 'tricked' Hezbollah by flying to US before authorising IDF to launch airstrikes to 'kill' terror group's leaders - leaving Beirut in ruins and the Middle East on the brink of 'all-out war'

Beirut has been left a smouldering wreck following intense IDF airstrikes targeting Hezbollah's headquarters in a bid to take out top leader Hassan Nasrallah. At the time of going to press, speculation was rife over whether Nasrallah and his top commanders were alive or mortally wounded in the 'unprecedented' attack, which came just hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (top right) gave a speech at the United Nations in New York. It is thought his presence in the US was intentional to 'trick' Hezbollah's leader into thinking he was safe, a senior Israeli official revealed, as Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant (bottom right) took charge of the operation back in Israel.
