Raw Footage of Farmington Hills Police Shootout with Domestic Violence Suspect Armed With an AK Style Rifle.

On September 15, 2024, at approximately 11:54 am, Farmington Hills Police Officers responded to a report of a domestic violence assault in progress in the area of Middlebelt and 12 Mile. It is alleged that the suspect, 32-year-old Dejuan Patrick Evans, assaulted the victim and threatened her life in front of her children. The victim’s child alerted 911 and law enforcement responded.

When officers arrived, the victim told them that she had been assaulted and that her children were still inside. Officers attempted to enter the home and apprehend the suspect. Evans pointed a rifle at the officers and later shot multiple times at the officers. Law enforcement moved to contain Evans , and he barricaded himself in the home with the two young children.

The children ultimately escaped after some time before Evans appeared at the front door with a rifle and was subsequently shot one time by an OCSO SWAT sniper. Law enforcement immediately rendered medical aid. Evans is currently in custody, under guard, at a medical facility.

Evans was charged with three counts of assault with intent to murder, one count of firearm possession by a prohibited person, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, six counts of felony firearm second or subsequent offense, and one count of domestic violence.
