In the conclusion to the high-profile Young Dolph murder trial, Justin Johnson, also known as “Straight Drop,” has been found guilty on all counts and sentenced to life in prison for the first-degree murder of beloved rapper Young Dolph.
The jury delivered its verdict, bringing justice to Young Dolph’s family, friends, and fans. The rapper, whose real name was Adolph Thornton Jr., was tragically shot and killed in Memphis in November 2021.

During the trial, defense attorney Luke Evans made an impassioned plea for Johnson’s innocence, but state attorney Iris Williams successfully argued that the evidence against Johnson was overwhelming. Johnson now faces life in prison without the possibility of parole, with sentencing for his additional two charges scheduled for November 1.
