My mind is a mess, and my schedule’s a fright,
With no words to say and my thoughts taking flight.

I cannot face questions from folks down in Texas,
Who want to know why I’m avoiding the nexus.
There’s talk about migrants, the numbers are vast,
But I’m stuck at my desk, like a speechless outcast.

I cannot go to the border today,
The traffic is dreadful, the skies are all gray.
I’ll send out a tweet with a heartfelt decree,
To let all the people know I’m still here, you see?

The press wants a photo, they want me to pose,
But I’m busy with policies nobody knows.
With the budget and ballots all piling up high,
I’ll just look out my window and give it a try.
Oh, maybe next week, if the polls align,
When my calendar’s clear and the sun starts to shine.
