Located in the northernmost part of mainland Southeast Asia, Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is the second largest country in the region. But due to decades of political unrest, the nation is facing economic issues with almost half of its population living below the poverty line. The consequences of this ongoing conflict are dire: 1.3 million people are displaced, 28,000 destroyed homes, and villages burned to the ground. In 2021, Myanmar’s military staged a coup and jailed many of the country’s democratic leaders. Currently, the country is still in a terrible condition, with pro-democratic forces and ethnic militias battling the junta soldiers...
