SIMON & GARFUNKEL - The Only Living Boy In New York

Dear Audrey,

Old Friends

A letter to an old friend,
He's the kind of old friend,
Who would think this,
Missive is about him.

I still owe him a lot,
And yet we are even,
It's passive-aggressive,
Because, I'm no one of note.

I 'am' happy for her,
A Queen's counterpart,
The high road is not easy,
For only the coward ignores.

Shunned, simply because,
I'm no adrenalin junkie,
The silence is deafening,
But I can stand my own company.

I miss my old friend,
The Only Living Boy in New York,
I got nothing to do today but smile,
because I'm eternally grateful.

Yours Truly,
Lord Byron
