There has been an update to this story.

The spokesperson for the Meridian Police Department gave a quote to Channel 2 saying, "...I can share that Officer Chambers voluntarily left the Department for another opportunity in early September, and when the complete review is finished we will provide additional information."

21 year old, Samson Allen, who has been charged with resisting and obstructing is set for his status conference on 10/15 at 1:30 pm and jury trial the following day at 8:15 am.
