How are you preparing for Hurricane Helene's potential upgrade to Category 4?

As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Helene was upgraded to a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph. It's about 85 miles northeast of Cozumel, Mexico, moving northwest at 10 mph, the National Hurricane Center said.

The storm is expected to make a northerly trek, potentially making landfall as a major hurricane between Tallahassee and Tampa.

A Hurricane Watch is posted from Englewood to Anclote River, including Tampa Bay in Florida. A Hurricane Warning is in effect from Anclote River to Mexico Beach in Florida.

Tropical Storm Warnings are posted along the Middle Florida Keys from the Seven Mile Bridge to the Channel 5 Bridge, west of Mexico Beach to the Walton-Bay County line, for the Gulf coast of Florida from Flamingo northward to Anclote River, including Tampa Bay, west of Mexico Beach to the Walton/Bay County Line, and Palm Beach-Martin County Line northward to the Flagler-Volusia County Line.
