The Silver-studded Leafwing Butterfly is also called the Marbled or Jazzy Leafwing, It camouflages itself by closing their wings and mimicking a dead leaf.

The underside spots can be greenish, grey-silver or whitish. The topside is dark brown to black with a slight greenish iridescence and with a broad white vertical bar in the middle of each forewing and a couple of small white spots on the edge. The adult butterflies drink from rotting fruit but the caterpillars eat euphorbias.
