Expansion Areas:
South: Extending Line 2 to Limebank and adding a link to the Ottawa International Airport.
East: Extending Line 1 through Orlรฉans to Trim Station.
West: Extending Line 1 to Algonquin Station and adding a new Line 3 to Moodie Station12.
Project Scope:
Adding 44 kilometers of new rail and 24 new stations13.
Introducing new Stadler FLIRT trains and upgraded stations1.
Timeline and Challenges:
The western extension is currently 17 months behind schedule due to labor and material shortages, with completion now expected in late 2026
The eastern extension is slightly delayed but still on track to be delivered by early 2025
