09.08.24 "Honesty, Consistency, & Faith Without Delay"

A little more than 7 years ago I started the CMC’s Healing Team. It wasn’t because of any particular healing that I had experienced, although by then I had experienced many. It was because I received the guidance that waiting for some future event or state was meaningless and an unfortunate delay tactic of the ego. Because of CMC's move from our home of 29 years at the end of 2016 our healing ministry had been on hold. At a certain moment, just over 7 years ago, I was unwilling to wait, unwilling to delay any longer. I saw that the consequences of the delay were tragic. "Delay does not matter in eternity, but it is tragic in time." (OrEd.Tx.5.71) The Holy Spirit quickly laid out a plan before me and I followed it. It was a rather bold plan.

I am so happy I did because I see now that the apparent loss of a physical home, an address, was going to turn into an unforeseen positive. Now we could truly heal and minister everywhere all the time.

All throughout these 7 years I have gotten periodically challenged that my approach on healing is wrong. Often the challenges are not framed with the nicest of energies. In spite of the many manifestations of miracles produced for others by our work, and in spite of my own multiple manifestations of healing – the challenges to my approach persist. I suppose they will continue to. Another happened again just recently. I always find it a bit odd that people will think I made my decisions without very clear guidance or maybe frivolously. Perhaps they think I have just been stumbling along in the dark waiting for their critique so that I can set my Miracle Healing procedure “right."

I am never guided to change my approach even though I do periodically ask, mostly because of the insistence of those doing the challenging. I just consider these challenges to be outrageous requests. "Recognize what does not matter, and if your brothers ask you for something 'outrageous,' do it because it does not matter. Refuse and your opposition establishes that it does matter to you." (OrEd.Tx.11.27) I ask the Holy Spirit about my approach to healing again and again, from time to time, because a brother has asked me, and it doesn’t really matter.

This week I focused in on the importance of consistency. The Manual for Teachers associates consistency with honesty and I like that a lot. "Honesty does not apply only to what you say. The term actually means consistency. There is nothing you say that contradicts what you think or do." (OrEd.Mn.4.11)

I am very aware that I can not actually heal anyone, nor can the prayers of the CMC’s Healing Team truly heal any situation. The only thing that will heal anybody, or any situation, is that person’s faith. "There is no problem in any situation that faith will not solve." (OrEd.Tx.17.65) However it is important for us all to remember that if a healing challenge is upon us our faith must be lacking in that moment. In that moment the faith of another, the Miracle Healer, might be just the inspiration we need to restore our own faith in the power that heals all things.

Join me Sunday to explore faith without delay.
