Why You Should Think Twice Before Getting Name Tattoos!
The video explores the meaningfulness and implications of tattoos in relationships and family through a series of conversations.
[81:54-82:05]
Speaker reflects on the emotional impact of breakup songs.
So some of those songs, you're like, whoa, this was pretty rough. Yeah, that was pretty. Yeah. Yep. Hard breakup. So anyway, back to the drunken people.
[82:07-82:34]
Speakers discuss getting partner's names tattooed on their bodies and the complexities involved.
Yeah, own the ding tattoo. Do it. I may try to go convince my wife and we'll both get tattoos of our names on each other's butts. Also, if that was me and I was getting in a fight with my, you know, soon-to-be husband, I'd be like, yeah, I'd like to see you go anywhere else with my name tatted on your butt. Like, I would just use, like, be not, like, spiteful about it, but just, like, you know, be like, I don't know, try finding another little son out there. I mean, why not be spiteful? I think that's amazing. You should be spiteful.
[82:35-83:17]
Speakers share their personal experiences and preferences regarding tattoos and names.
If you're going to, if we're in a good relationship and it's been a good for a while, and then all of a sudden it will say, it will say it was the person that the sales, the, the, uh, the porn addicted guy that we talked about earlier and y'all broke up. Yeah. I'm going to, I'm going to tell you straight up. Ha ha. You got my name on you forever. This is then you just never get your significant other's name padded on you. matching tattoos sure but not names yeah i've never liked that i have considered a tattoo um i'm not against when we get by any means but and there's a there's a design i that i really like because i'm from georgia originally um yeah you probably hear the southerns sometimes come out it's it's it can be pretty thick sometimes depends on what are you talking about david yeah
[83:20-83:43]
Speaker describes a tattoo idea representing family with Georgia pine trees.
And there's the answer. Here's your sign. Got it, got it, got it. And the tattoo I have been considering getting is actually some Georgia pine trees. And I'd probably put it on my wrist, on my forearm. And I would do like 7 pine trees. So it would be like the 2 taller ones would be my wife and I, and then I'd have 5 other ones for my kids.
[83:44-84:13]
Speakers discuss the significance of family-related tattoos versus partner's name tattoos.
But that's not a name. Oh, I like that. That's a good idea. Yeah, it's significant enough that it has a meaning, but it's also not a name. You know, I wouldn't have a problem putting my, if I did a name, I wouldn't have a problem putting my kids' names on me because they're my kids. They're always going to be my kids. Yeah, I agree with that one. I don't know if I'd ever put my wife's name on me. I wouldn't put my fiance's or husband, no, I couldn't.
[84:14-86:07]
Speaker shares cultural views on tattoos and experiences with societal judgment regarding tattoos in their community.
I, and it's not that I, that I'm, I would expect there to be a breakup. I just, I know. I just don't, I don't think words, I think name tattoos on you and like even face tattoos, people who get, uh, their, their spouses. I think, um, Sylvester Stallone, uh, had a tattoo of his ex wife on his shoulder at one time and he ended up having that covered up completely. But, um, uh, Yeah, I think that stuff, I think that goes into the category of like face tattoos. It's usually not a good idea. So, I mean, my daughter, I think she's addicted to tattoos, but that's okay. I mean, I don't care. Well, okay, so we live in Utah, and we're members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and there's very judgmental people out here. I'll go ahead and say it. And because the judgmental part of some of these people, my daughter had just got a brand-new tattoo, and it's on her arm. I think it was like her first or second tattoo, but it was on her forearm. And we go to church, and my daughter's wearing a longer-sleeve shirt because it was wintertime. And my wife and my daughter go into class, and this lady comes up to my wife and says, whispers in my wife's ears, I think your daughter's got a tattoo she's hiding from you. And so my wife looks at her and goes, really? And she goes, okay, I'll handle this. She walks over to my daughter, pulls up her sleeve to show off the whole tattoo. She goes, how's it healing? And that other lady's face was just floored. Like, what are you doing? Why are you acting this way? What's going on again? I don't, I don't have a problem with it. I mean, it's a, and I know some people do, but it's not an issue. I think it's, it literally is the biggest non-issue in the world that people make up as a, as an issue. So, but as long as it's not a name tattoo, I just can't do the name tattoo thing, but just, uh, yeah, that would bother me.
