Local Community Devastated - Residents Forced Out Get to Return Home

An explosion at an Energy Transfer natural gas liquids pipeline in the Houston suburbs of Deer Park and La Porte has drawn the spotlight to issues of pipeline safety. The explosion occurred when an SUV hit an aboveground valve on the underground pipeline, causing the evacuation of nearly 1,000 homes at one point and schools to shelter in place.
