Mission Concepción was founded in 1711 as part of the Domingo Ramón-St. Denis expedition. It was originally established to convert the Hasinai people to Catholicism and integrate them into Mexican society.
In 1731, the mission was relocated to San Antonio. This move was crucial for its survival and growth, as the original location did not provide the necessary resources and protection.
Mission Concepción is still an active place of worship. Catholic Mass is held every Sunday, continuing a tradition that has lasted for over 300 years.
