LOS ANGELES, July 25 (UPI) —Barbara Colby, 36‐year‐old daughter‐in‐law of Ethel Merman, the singer, was shot to death with a man last night in the parking lot of a dramatic school in the Palms district of West Los Angeles, the police disclosed today. Miss Colby, an actress and a teacher at the school, and James F. Kiernan, 35, a student, were killed as they walked toward their car.
