Revelation 18 describes the final judgment of Babylon, symbolizing a corrupt and idolatrous world system. The merchants, who were once the great men of the earth, prospered through Babylon’s wealth and influence. However, their prosperity was tainted by sorcery, leading to the deception of nations. As Babylon falls, Heaven resounds with rejoicing. Verse 20 calls upon heaven, apostles, and prophets to celebrate, for God has avenged them against this corrupt power:

*“For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived.” (Revelation 18:23)*

*“Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!” (Revelation 18:20)*

This chapter reveals the righteous judgment of God and the ultimate vindication of His people.
