Israel-Hezbollah Exchange Fire, Fears of Full-Blown War Rise

Israel has said that it is striking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon to prevent large-scale attacks. The strikes are in response to Hezbollah's rocket attack in Northern Israel. The Iran-backed Hezbollah said that it targeted Israeli military production facilities and the Ramat David base and airport, the deepest site inside Israel that Hezbollah has targeted so far. Hezbollah said it fired "dozens" of Katyusha, Fadi-1 and Fadi-2 rockets towards the northern Israeli city of Haifa. Hezbollah claimed the attack was an initial response to recent blasts in its communication devices that killed 37. The Israeli army confirmed more than 100 projectiles were fired from Lebanon. The Israeli authorities have shut schools in northern Israel amidst attacks. Israel said that the attack forced thousands of people into bomb shelters. Earlier, Israeli forces struck Hezbollah rocket launchers in southern Lebanon. On September 21, Israeli warplanes struck around 180 Hezbollah targets. The rising cross-border firing raises fears of a full-blown Israel-Hezbollah war.
