CDC guidelines for COVID-19 vaccines

All children aged 6 months and older are eligible for COVID-19 vaccines.
Children aged 6 months to 4 years:
Pfizer-BioNTech:
Requires a 3-dose primary series: First 2 doses are given 3 weeks apart.
Third dose is given at least 8 weeks after the second dose.
Moderna:
Requires a 2-dose primary series: Doses are given 4 weeks apart.
Children aged 5 to 11 years:
Pfizer-BioNTech: Requires a 2-dose primary series, with doses given 3 weeks apart.
Moderna:Also a 2-dose primary series, with doses given 4 weeks apart.
Booster Shots:
Booster doses may be recommended, depending on the child's age, vaccine type, and time since the primary series. Updated (bivalent) vaccines targeting new variants may be offered to eligible children.
