Israel Strikes Southern Beirut, Top Hezbollah Commander Killed

Israeli forces carried out airstrike on Hezbollah’s stronghold Beirut. According to the Lebanon's health ministry, the strike killed 31, including three children and seven women. The Israeli forces said that it carried out a "targeted strike" in southern Beirut suburbs and eliminated Hezbollah’s Radwan Force chief Ibrahim Aqil, wanted by the US for the 1983 bombing of its Beirut embassy. The US had offered a $7 million reward for information on Aqil. The IDF said that the strike killed 10 other Radwan commanders. Hezbollah named the second senior commander Ahmed Mahmud Wahbi, who was killed in strikes. Wahbi led military operations of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force. Hamas called the strike a “brutal and terrorist aggression”. While Iran accused Israel of seeking to "broaden the geography of the war". The latest strike followed blasts in Hezbollah’s communication devices that killed 37, and wounded thousands.
