The video, made in 2012, captures a meeting held in a bar in the Russian capital Moscow between Vladimir Ashurkov, executive director of Navalny's so-called Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), and James William Thomas Ford, then second secretary for political affairs at the British ambassy to Russia.

The FSB suspected that the diplomat was working for the UK's Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), acting under diplomatic cover.
