Paul wants the Gentiles in the BoC of Christ to remember who they were and what God has done for them. Anyone who is disobedient and does not believe the gospel are "children of wrath."
Paul talks about how God has spiritually quickened them in Christ who were spiritually dead.
Salvation is a gift of God that is received by faith, it does not depend our our works, it is separate from and works we have done, it is 100% the work of God and 0% man.
The Son of God, Jesus Christ, shed His blood on the cross so we can receive His Spirit.
Christ's life gave dead spirit in a new group of people . . . life!
Our sin was in our mortal flesh so God could give us a new body.
Paul explains that the body of Christ is composed of both saved Gentiles (uncircumcised) and individual saved Jews that have believed what the Son of God did (1 Cor. 15:3, 4).
Three Time periods: Time past (2:11, 12), but now (2:13), ages to come (2:7)
In this section (2:19-22) Paul returns to writing about the mystery of His will (Eph. 1:9-11).
Jesus Christ is the Chief Cornerstone (Eph. 2:20; 1 Peter 2:6).
The body of Christ has an inheritance in the Kingdom of God (1:10, 5:5),
the household of God (2:19),
the Temple of God (2:21),
the Habitation of God through the Spirit (2:22)
the Family of God (3:15).
