How Calling Thomas Sowell, Ben Carson, and Clarence Thomas 'Sell Outs' Damages Black Culture

In this episode of Broken Traditions, we explore the damaging impact of labeling accomplished Black figures like Thomas Sowell, Dr. Ben Carson, and Clarence Thomas as "sell-outs." These men have defied the odds, rising from humble beginnings to achieve incredible success. Yet, their political views often lead to them being dismissed by Black culture, overshadowing their stories of perseverance and achievement.

We dive deep into why using terms like "sell-out" and "Uncle Tom" within Black culture is harmful. By dismissing these stories, we lose valuable lessons on overcoming adversity, resilience, and success—stories that could inspire future generations. I’ll also share my own experiences with being labeled as "white-minded" and a "coon" for addressing difficult topics in the Black community, and why we need to break away from this destructive mindset.

Join me as we challenge these harmful labels and recognize the importance of learning from all Black voices, even when we don’t agree with them. It’s time to celebrate success, not tear it down
