Anaylizing the Latest Nintendo Switch 2 Render Leaks

When it comes to the world of Video Games, it seems like rumors surrounding the successor to the Nintendo Switch, whether its going to be called the Switch 2, Super Switch, Switch DS, or what, the rumor mill is picking up steam. Earlier today, Andy Robinson shared images of a reported Nintendo Switch 2 a day after rumors of that being the actual name popped up yesterday. Well these images are interesting and I think there's potential for some to be legit, but I also think some of these are simply renders of the current Switch OLED. Let's talk about whether the Nintendo Switch 2 Render and Parts really did just leak.

3D Renders:
With my experience using 3D printing software and CAD, such as Fusion 360, the 3D renders don't quite look new to me. When this system is in one piece, JoyCons Attached and all, it looks almost exactly like a Nintendo Switch OLED. The analog stick placement, the buttons, everything looks just like a Switch OLED. Which makes me lean towards this being fan-made. But there's something here that caught my eye.

Looking at the rear views of the Joycons, the ZL and ZR triggers are in a totally different place. Where the originals were on the top of the JoyCon, these are below the hump on the back of the controller. This could be a new design, but again, this could be something that a fan simply mocked up for their own purposes.

Legit or Not:
I don't think these are legit renders of the new system. While the word is that the Switch 2 will be very similar in design to the original, this is TOO similar for my taste. This looks like a really well done fan render and design, and I will say I like the ZR and ZL trigger placement!

Photos:
We also got photos of actual molded plastic shells for the Joy-Cons, along with a PCB back and the battery tray. Having disassembled a Switch to reshell it myself, there's a lot here that looks right to me. Much like the renders, however, the JoyCon shells don't look different enough to me. There's also no branding on the PCB that says Nintendo.

Legit or Not:
I want to believe, I think this could be legit, but I'm not 100%.
