Confrontations at Univ. of South Carolina Near Event with Milo Yiannopoulos & Gavin McInnes

Confrontations took place on Wednesday evening at the University of South Carolina, after attendees left an event with Milo Yiannopoulos and Gavin McInnes

Protesters gathered outside the Russell House, where the event was held on campus

The event was hosted by a USC chapter of 'Uncensored America', and drew backlash following its announcement by the organization

There were numerous calls for cancellation of the event, including from South Carolina State Representative Leon Howard and the NAACP. A Change.org petition urging USC President Michael Amiridis and the Board of Trustees to “take steps to modify the name of the event, relocate it from the campus, or consider its total cancellation” received over 27,000 signatures
