NEGATIVE THOUGHTS ABOUT YOU AND GOD DARKEN THE HEART

The experts tell me that 75,000 thoughts a day go through our minds. I can't imagine how they can calculate that, but if that's the fact, that's a lot of activity. The researchers also say that most of our thoughts about ourselves are negative or about our past failures, etc.
Not many people are aware of what negative thoughts do to our physical body, as well as our spiritual well-being. For instance, the research tells us that when we think negatively about ourselves, it affects our physical heart as well as our nervous system.
On the spiritual side, when negative thoughts come our way, and we agree with them, it empowers the enemy to take advantage of us. There is no end to the downward spiral when you buy into the thinking that comes from past failures or fears about the future.
The result is a dark heart and a mind that can't comprehend God's purposes.
In the Passion Bible, Romans 1:21, Paul tells us that negative thoughts about God will also darken our hearts or cut us off from the light of the gospel.
The answer is not just Jesus. The honest answer is believing and acting upon what Jesus has given us through his sacrifice and resurrection. You can learn about Jesus and his saving power, but the effects on your life only happen once you believe. Jesus said if you believe in me, you have everlasting life.
Jesus said that we should not take the thoughts to come our way but cast them down and take them captive by the power of Christ. They will stop their advance and eventually fade away if you do that.
