In this installment of From the Vault, Paul Levy tells us about the Heckler & Koch HK416, a piston-operated update on the M4 carbine. The HK416 was adopted by U.S. Special Forces units in the early 2000s and is, of course, famous for being the rifle used by the Navy Seals who ended the career of Osama bin Laden. Paul briefly covers the history of the HK416 and explains its unique features and differences from the M4, using an example built up from one of the new Brownells HK416 rifle kits.
