Be sure to read the interesting old link below circa 1946 prior to renaming of Boulder Dam.
Lamprophyres are rare and poorly understood ultrapotassic hypabissal rocks that occur only as dikes.

In filming this I got rousted by a young turnip head ranger that "guessed" I wasn't doing anything illegal by wandering around these rocks but thought my car looked abandoned.... grrrrr!
